The course winds through the grounds of a cemetery, which sounds unusual but makes for a genuinely scenic fall morning. Trees, open paths, and the quiet of the place give it an atmosphere that fits the Halloween theme better than any road race could. Costumes are part of the deal, and people lean into it.
The finish line has donuts. Post-race, that is what you are running toward, and it is a reasonable thing to run toward.
