About the Great Pumpkin Dash
The Great Pumpkin Dash runs through Waxahachie as a costume race, so expect pumpkins, superheroes, and whatever else people could pull together by race morning. Pets are welcome on the course, which means the field can get entertainingly chaotic. Prizes go to top finishers and to the best costumes, for both humans and their dogs.
The race benefits Chrysalis to Wings, a local agency that provides emergency shelter, housing, and support services to people facing homelessness in the area. Running it puts money directly toward that work, and the costume element gives the whole morning a reason to bring the whole family out.
