About the Gratitude Run
The course runs out and back on a paved stretch of the Montour Trail, a wooded path that holds its tree cover well into late fall. The footing is smooth, the route is straightforward, and the surrounding woods make it feel removed from the road even though you are on pavement the whole way.
The race runs on Thanksgiving morning and benefits a local family nominated by the Peters Township community each year. That purpose is front and center at the start, and the crowd skews toward neighbors rather than racers.
