About the Glenside Fire Company - Stop, Drop & Run 5K
The course runs through the streets of Glenside, starting and finishing at the firehouse. There are a couple of loops with rolling hills spread throughout, nothing brutal but enough to keep it interesting. The race is a fundraiser for the all-volunteer fire company based there, which gives the morning a genuine neighborhood feel.
After finishing, breakfast food is set out at the firehouse, and there is a beer garden for those who want to stick around. The firehouse sits directly across from the train station, so getting there without a car is straightforward.
