About the Keep the Parade Running 5K Run/1-Mile Fun Walk

The course does a couple of loops through Glenside's streets, with rolling hills throughout, so expect some work on the legs even if the distance is short. The race starts and finishes at a local VFW post on Jenkintown Road. It runs rain or shine, and the whole point is to fund the town's fireworks display, a neighborhood tradition going back further than most runners' grandparents.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at the same VFW post, with a race-morning window as a backup for those who cannot make it the night before. The start area is inside, so you have somewhere to wait if the weather is uncooperative.
