About the Edna House For Women

The course runs through Upper Edgewater, a lakefront park on Cleveland's west side, so expect open views and paved paths close to the water. The terrain is mostly flat, and the morning tends to draw a mix of people out to support the Edna House mission, a sober living program for women in recovery. Dogs and strollers are welcome, though they ask those groups to line up toward the back.

Race-morning registration and check-in open at the Upper Edgewater Pavilion before the start. Post-race refreshments are available after you finish, and awards go to top finishers across a broad range of age groups.

Common Questions About the The Edna House For Women

Will I finish last at the Edna House For Women?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 29:44, and the last recorded finisher came in around 49:50, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Edna House For Women a good first 5K?

It is a small race (47 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Edna House For Women?

The 5K winner ran 20:40 while the median finisher took 29:44. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
