About the Colony Shoreline 5K & 8 Miler
The course follows the Shoreline Trail along Lake Lewisville for most of its distance, with crushed granite underfoot and open water views throughout. The rest of the route mixes in other surfaces, but the trail sections are the heart of it. Terrain is flat, so you can focus on the scenery rather than your footing.
A DJ keeps things moving at the start area. There is a post-run beer waiting at the finish, and proceeds from the race go toward cancer research at a local medical institution.
