About the Albany IceBreaker Challenge 5K
The course runs along the Corning Preserve Bicycle Path, right beside the Hudson River. What makes this race unusual is that rowers from the Albany Rowing Center are out on the water racing alongside you at the same time, in shells. The path is flat and paved, and the river is right there the whole way.
The start is at the rowing center's boathouse inside the Corning Preserve. Packet pickup the evening before is at a local outpost in Albany, with race-morning pickup available as well. Parking is at the Corning Preserve Boat Launch, and attendants are on hand to direct overflow if that lot fills.
