About the 31st Annual Thanksgiving WALK of Awareness (2026)
This Thanksgiving Day walk raises money for a local soup kitchen and men's shelter, with the route starting at a VFW post, heading down Capital Avenue, looping around the Capitol building, and finishing at the ACCESS facility. The course is a there-and-back along a main thoroughfare, with the Capitol as the turning point.
Those who cannot join in person can participate virtually, walking wherever they choose and submitting photos afterward. The start area at the VFW post is where walkers check in on the morning of the event. A virtual option makes it easy to take part from anywhere.
