About the Thanksgiving Day Gobble Wobble 5K & Fun Run
The race starts behind a brewpub at Halcyon, an outdoor shopping and dining development on the north side of Alpharetta. The course is a road race through that area, and the start is organized by corrals based on your estimated pace, so faster runners get clear space up front. Chip timing means your clock starts when you cross the line, not when the gun goes off.
Packet pickup runs for several days before Thanksgiving at a couple of local running stores, one in Cumming and one in Dawsonville. Pickup closes the day before the race, so arriving without a bib on race morning is not an option. Parking is spread across a few lots and a garage near the start; the organizers suggest carpooling and parking away from the garage to get out faster afterward.
