About the Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K
The course follows the paved inner path around Green Lake, running counter-clockwise before cutting through the ball fields toward the finish. The terrain is flat the whole way, with a slight downhill in the final stretch. Runners tend to show up in Husky or Cougar gear, since the race falls on Apple Cup weekend, and costumes are not unusual.
Bib pickup runs the two evenings before the race at Super Jock N Jill, a running shop right on the lake. Race-morning pickup opens at the softball fields on the east side of Green Lake before the start. There is a food donation drop-off at bib pickup, and age-group awards follow shortly after finishers come in.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a big field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K has been held every year since at least 2017. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
