About the Texas State Forest Festival Lumber-JACKED 5K & Fun Run
The course circles a lake inside a zoo park on the east side of Lufkin. It is a non-timed event, so there is no clock pressure, and the surroundings make it feel more like a morning walk through a park than a traditional road race. The lake path keeps things shaded and relatively flat throughout.
Packet pickup runs the day before at the local Chamber of Commerce, with race-morning pickup available at the zoo entrance. The race is part of a larger festival, so the start area tends to have a bit more going on than a typical standalone 5K morning.
