About the Texas Endurance Runs (TxER)
The course mixes gravel roads, grass, and asphalt on a short loop that runners repeat through the heat. There is a brief uphill stretch along a road, a turn-around, then back through the property past a dam, a grass berm, and a railroad-tie bridge. Shade is scarce, and the humidity is not. This is a timed endurance event, so you run as far as you can.
Camping is available on site, with different zones for cars, tents, RVs, and a quiet area for those trying to sleep between loops. The start and finish area has indoor bathrooms and air-conditioned shelter, which matters a great deal given the temperatures. Aid station tables carry sports drinks, sodas, water, and a mix of sweet and salty snacks.
