About the Teal & Tutus 5k

This is a awareness race in Grand Prairie tied to Sexual Assault Awareness Month, with proceeds going to local survivor support organizations. The course details are still being finalized, so the terrain and route are not yet pinned down, but the event pairs the run with a post-race party.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Chicken-N-Pickle, a local venue, with a second window near the start line on race morning for those who could not make it out early. Someone else can grab your packet if needed, as long as they bring your confirmation or QR code.

Common Questions About the Teal & Tutus 5k

Will I finish last at the Teal & Tutus 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 44:38, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:22:13, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Teal & Tutus 5k a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (126 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Teal & Tutus 5k?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 12:49 while the median finisher took 44:38. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
