About the Tampa Electric's Run for the Manatees
The course runs through the trails on a conservation and technology campus in Apollo Beach, passing by a manatee viewing center along the way. The surroundings are natural and quiet, more like a nature walk than a road race, and the route winds through the campus rather than along streets. The race benefits a manatee research program.
Bib pickup is available race morning, though pre-race registration is not offered on the day. Parking on campus is tight, so carpooling is encouraged. After finishing, the campus stays open to explore, with exhibits tied to conservation work run by a utility company, an aquarium, and a wildlife commission.
