About the Talent Harvest Festival

The shorter route is an out-and-back with gentle rolling terrain, while the longer option branches off into hillier ground with open views. Both start from Talent City Hall, and local police officers ride along at the front of the field, which gives the opening stretch an unusual, parade-like feeling.

Packet pickup and registration open race morning, well before the gun, so there is no need to come in the night before. Proceeds from the race support a program that puts running shoes on student athletes in the area.

Common Questions About the Talent Harvest Festival

Will I finish last at the Talent Harvest Festival?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 30:15, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:14:42, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Talent Harvest Festival a good first 5K?

It is a small race (131 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Talent Harvest Festival?

The 5K winner ran 18:40 while the median finisher took 30:15. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
