About the Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk
The course runs through Lakewood Nature Preserve, a wooded trail with wide, grassy paths and enough rolling terrain to keep things interesting. You do a couple of loops through the trees, and wildlife sightings are apparently common enough that the organizers mention them. It feels like a cool morning in the woods, sweater and all.
Packet pickup opens an hour before the start, so there is no need to rush in early. After the race, people gather by a barn on the preserve grounds. The post-race crowd votes on sweaters, prizes go to the best individual and group looks, and there is music while people wind down.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2025 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Tacky Sweater 5k Run/Walk has been held every year since at least 2020. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
