The course runs through Lehigh Parkway, a wooded park in Allentown with paved paths along a creek. The terrain is gently rolling rather than flat, with tree cover that holds even in winter. The race is put on by the local running club, whose clubhouse serves as the start and finish, so the atmosphere around the line is familiar and unhurried.
