About the Sunset Runway 5k

The course runs on an actual airport runway, which makes it unlike most road races. The surface is smooth and the route is flat, with hills visible in the distance as the sun goes down behind them. The evening start means you are running into the sunset, and the open tarmac gives you a wide, unobstructed view of it the whole way.

Packet pickup the evening before is at Confluence Running, a local running store in Johnson City. Race-day pickup is also available before the gun. The start area is at the airport itself.
