About the Southern Tier Cross Country Series (ALL RACES)
This is a team cross country series, not a single race. Courses run on grass, dirt, mud, and hills, with some wooded singletrack in the mix. The terrain changes from venue to venue across the season. A person dressed as a hare hides on the course, and catching him earns your team a bonus point, which is exactly as chaotic as it sounds.
Registration covers every race in the series under one bib, which you carry from event to event. After each race there are bagels, coffee, and the genuine possibility of winning a pie. Two awards honor past members of the running community by name, given out each week to runners who earn them on the course or through how they show up for everyone else.
