About the Sundown Dash
The course runs through Monterey Park, starting and finishing with a loop around the track at Monterey Stadium before heading out along the river on an out-and-back route. The ground is flat throughout, with paved paths and a riverside stretch that makes for a pleasant evening run. The race benefits brain cancer research and patient support through the Chasing Chad organization.
Packet pickup happens at the park in the early evening before the start, so there is no need to sort anything out on a separate day. A kids' short dash goes off first, making the start area busier and livelier than a typical evening road race.
