The course runs through Riverside Park, starting and finishing at the North Pavilion. The route is flat, which makes it a course where a lot of runners aim for a personal best. The race benefits a local nonprofit that works with unaccompanied homeless youth in the area, so the field tends to draw people who are there for a reason beyond the run itself.
