About the Summer Session 10k & 5k
Both courses run on the Ecusta Trail, a former rail line that has been converted into a greenway. The surface is smooth and the route is out-and-back, so the terrain stays consistent the whole way. It is a straightforward run with the feel of a trail without the technical footing.
The race starts and finishes at Trailside Brewing at Lennox Station. Post-race, there is beer on site, along with non-alcoholic options. A portion of proceeds goes to a local river conservation group, so the morning has a bit of a local-cause backdrop to it.
