About the Sugar Daddy Race

The course runs along paved paseo trails through Santa Clarita, and the route is nearly flat the whole way. The finish crosses a historic iron railroad bridge, which gives the end of the race a distinct feel. Several distance options mean you can make the morning as easy or as hard as you want.

Ben and Jerry's ice cream is waiting at the finish. The race falls on Father's Day weekend, so the crowd around the finish area tends to be heavy on families.

Finish-Time Stats

Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

Common Questions About the Sugar Daddy Race

Will I finish last at the Sugar Daddy Race?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 39:00, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:25:17, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Sugar Daddy Race a good first 5K?

A field of 294 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Sugar Daddy Race?

The 5K winner ran 16:29 while the median finisher took 39:00. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
