About the Strides for Sierra 5K run/walk
The course winds through the neighborhood surrounding an elementary school, which keeps the terrain gentle and the surroundings familiar. It is a fundraiser for the school's PTA, so the crowd skews toward families with kids, and the atmosphere reflects that.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before the race at the school, which is the easier option. Day-of pickup opens before the start. After the race, a festival area with food, drinks, vendors, and activities for kids fills the finish area.
