About the Strides for Africa
The race starts at McPike Park in downtown Madison, part of the opening of Africa Fest, so the surrounding area is already coming to life when runners arrive. Several distance options are available, including a team relay designed to echo the experience of hauling water in rural African villages. Proceeds go toward clean water, education, and health projects overseas.
After you finish, showing your race bib at the festival beer tent gets you a complimentary drink. The finish area puts you right in the middle of the festival, so there is somewhere to be once you are done running.
