About the Strawberry 5K Run/Walk
The course runs on paved trails through Blue River Park, so the surface is smooth the whole way. As you go, you hunt for fake strawberries scattered along the route and bring them in at the finish for prizes. It is a themed race, and the strawberry angle runs all the way through, from the awards for top finishers and age groups to the shortcake snacks waiting at the end.
There is a short kids run before the main event, starting slightly ahead of the gun. Post-race, strawberry and shortcake snacks are set out for everyone who finishes.
