About the Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot
The course runs out and back from Steamboat Springs High School toward Strawberry Park, so you get a good look at the same stretch twice. Roads stay open to traffic throughout, and runners are routed along the shoulder. Dogs on leashes are welcome on the course, and costumes are common given the Thanksgiving morning timing.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the high school, with race-morning pickup also available. The organizers note that morning lines move slowly, so arriving early helps. After the race, there is a raffle drawing for those who stick around, and a food bank donation bin sits near the finish line.

The Steamboat Springs Turkey Trot has been held every year since at least 2015. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 18, 2026.
