The course runs on a paved trail through the Cook County Forest Preserve at Vollmer Grove, looping through wooded preserve land just outside downtown Olympia Fields. It is flat enough to be stroller and dog friendly, so the field tends to mix serious runners with families out for a slower morning in the trees. The surroundings are quiet and shaded.

Packet pickup happens race morning at the start area, with registration open until shortly before the gun. Parking is right there at the start, and an overflow lot sits off Flossmoor Road if the main area fills. The Metra Electric line stops a couple of miles away for anyone coming in without a car.
