About the St. Petersburg Distance Classic
The courses all head north together through Snell Isle before splitting apart. Shorter distances turn back early, while the longer courses loop around Coffee Pot Bayou and return to North Shore Park. The half and full marathon then push south along the waterfront, through downtown, and onto Central Avenue, where large murals cover building walls throughout a stretch of local shops and cafes.
Musicians are stationed along the route, including solo performers in the residential stretches near the water and a marching band on Central Avenue. Aid stations are spread throughout each course, stocked with water and lemon-lime Gatorade. Gels are not provided, so bring your own if you rely on them.
