About the St. Joseph School Gobble Gallop Fun Run and 5K
The 5K follows a couple of loops through downtown Ponchatoula, so the course stays on quiet streets and doubles back on itself. It is a Thanksgiving-themed race, and the organizers lean into that: turkey hats and pilgrim socks are encouraged, and there is a prize for whoever best embodies the holiday spirit.
The fun run goes off first, with the 5K starting shortly after. Snacks and water are at the finish, and there is a hydration stop out on the course. Awards go to overall leaders as well as age-specific school categories and alumni, so the crowd skews heavily toward the St. Joseph School community.
