About the Squatchywaska Mountainfest

The Shawangunk Ridge is the draw here. The courses climb and descend mountain singletrack through pitch pines, huckleberry, and mountain laurel, crossing the white conglomerate cliffs and glacially-polished ledges the Gunks are known for. The views open up wide toward the Catskills, and the route passes a sky lake and a tall waterfall before it is over.

This event benefits RunWild, Inc., a local nonprofit, and carries the spirit of an earlier mountain festival that ran for a few years in Ellenville. The Sassquad crew behind it brings a trail-party sensibility to serious mountain terrain.
