About the Squatchy Hooky: Lake to Summit
The two courses here go in completely opposite directions, literally. One stays near the water, looping around Rockland Lake on a wide paved path with open lake views and gentle terrain. The other heads up into the woods on the Long Path, climbing over rock ledges to the summit of Hook Mountain, where the Hudson River opens up in every direction before you turn around and come back down.
Both courses start and finish at a parking field inside Rockland Lake State Park. The paved loop welcomes wheelchairs and all paces. The summit route is genuinely rocky and steep in places, more of a run-hike than a straight run, so trail shoes and some patience on the climb are worth planning for.

Finish-Time Stats
Going by the 2026 results, this is a small, friendly field, and the spread of finish times is wide, so this is a mostly recreational race rather than one for club runners.

The Squatchy Hooky: Lake to Summit has been held every year since at least 2018. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
