About the Spring Mills 5k Zombie Fun Run & Pumpkin Smash
The course is zombie-themed, with surprises and challenges scattered along the way. Costumes are part of the deal, and runners show up dressed for Halloween. The proceeds go to several local schools, so the crowd skews toward families. Food trucks stick around after the finish, and there is a pumpkin smash and launch event on the side.
Vendors and community organizations set up alongside the food trucks, so there is plenty to do once you cross the finish line. The pumpkin smash gives kids something to do while adults recover. It reads more like a fall festival that happens to have a race attached than a straight-up 5K.
