About the SPIER FAMILY KINDNESS FOR KIDS 5K & KIDS RUN
This race starts and finishes at the local YMCA branch on Mechanic Street, so the start area already has a building, parking, and familiar infrastructure behind it. The course is a road 5K out of that lot, and a separate shorter route runs afterward for younger kids. The whole morning doubles as a community family day, with vendor booths and YMCA activities running alongside the racing.
Packet pickup is the evening before at the same YMCA location, which makes race morning simpler. The race benefits the Hockomock Area YMCA's food access work, and organizers ask runners to bring a non-perishable food item to donate at the start.
