About the South Portland Food Cupboard - St. Max 5K Run/Walk Road Race
The race starts and finishes at a church on Black Point Road, with entry fees going directly to a local food bank that serves families in the area. A kids' fun run goes off first, then the main race follows. The course is a road race, and the same route has been used for several years running.
There is day-of registration available, and if you bring canned goods or nonperishable food, you can get a discount off the at-the-door price. A table on-site collects food donations as well. Prizes go to the top male and female finishers, with age group awards beyond that.
