About the 18th Annual Sleighbell 5K Run/Walk

The course runs on paved trail systems outside Williamsburg, linking three named trails into a single loop. The terrain is trail-adjacent rather than road, which gives it a different feel from a typical neighborhood 5K. There is also a competitive walk division, not just an open one, so walkers are racing seriously too.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local running store on Jamestown Road, with race-morning pickup available before the start. The race supports a school health program and a local food consortium, and runners are encouraged to bring canned goods. An ugly sweater contest after the run tends to keep people around past the finish line.
