About the Sizzling Soles Half-marathon
Mills School Park's asphalt track serves as both the start and finish, with the route heading out onto the paved Cary greenways trail network. It is a summer race, so heat is a real factor to plan around. Several distance options share the same course, with starts staggered by distance.
The park track doubles as the finish area. Because the route runs on greenways, footing is paved throughout, though surface conditions shift with recent weather. The organizer flags the course with distance markers measured on the ground, so GPS watches may read differently than the posted distances.

The Sizzling Soles Half-marathon has been held every year since at least 2023. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 22, 2026.
