The course runs along Front Street in Harrisburg, with the walk portion tracing the riverfront and the timed run following a measured out-and-back on mostly flat, paved ground. City Island is part of the setting, so the surroundings are open and near the water rather than tucked into a neighborhood.
There is a pancake and sausage breakfast on site after the run, and family activities run through late morning. The event is organized around a fundraising mission for a local women's health organization, so the atmosphere leans more toward a community gathering than a straight-up race.
