About the Shoot for the Stars 5k

The course starts and finishes at an elementary school campus, so the crowd around the start line is heavy on families and kids cheering for teachers, parents, and older siblings. The race benefits the school directly, funding reading and math specialists and scholarships for graduates, which gives the morning a purpose beyond the run itself.

Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at the school entrance, which keeps race morning calm. Parking is available around the campus, but the road into the school closes shortly before the start and stays closed until the last runner clears the course, so arriving early is worth it.
