About the Shannon Smiles 5k
The course starts and finishes in front of a Catholic church, looping through the residential neighborhoods nearby before returning to a running and bike path at the church. It honors a teacher there who loved running, and the entry fees go toward her sons and a fund that supports families in need. The pace limit is generous, so walkers turn out in good numbers.
Packet pickup is available the evening before the race and again on race morning, both at the church where the course begins. That is also where you park and start, so there is not much to navigate on the morning itself.

The Shannon Smiles 5k has been held every year since at least 2021. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
