About the Shamrock Beer Run & BrewFest Chicago at Busse Woods
The course runs through Busse Woods, a forest preserve with paved paths winding through trees and open meadow stretches. The terrain is flat and the surroundings are quiet for a race with this much going on at the finish, where a mini beer garden is set up with craft brewery samples and a full pint waiting. This is an adults-only event.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a nearby restaurant and bar, which doubles as one of the additional parking options if you are driving in on race day. Parking at the forest preserve itself is limited, so carpooling helps. Race-morning pickup is available if you cannot make the early option.

How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
