About the Lucky Dog 5K - Schaumburg
The course follows a paved trail through Busse Woods, out and back, with trees on either side and generally flat ground underfoot. Dogs are welcome on the course, and a fair number of runners bring them. The trail stays open to cyclists and pedestrians during the race, so you share the path rather than own it.
Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a local running store on Schaumburg Road, which also holds a sale that weekend. Race-morning pickup opens about an hour before the start. Parking at Busse Woods is limited, so carpooling is encouraged; additional parking is available across the street at a nearby event center.

The Lucky Dog 5K - Schaumburg has been held every year since at least 2022. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Sep 10, 2026.
