About the Seneca Valley Cross Country Turkey Chase 5K

The course runs through Graham Park on Thanksgiving morning, chip timed and certified. The terrain is flat with no real climbs, which makes it reasonable for anyone chasing a personal best or just shaking out the legs before dinner. The race supports the Seneca Valley Cross Country Boosters, and a food drive runs alongside it at bib pickup and on race morning.

Packet pickup happens at a local entertainment venue across several evenings before the race, with race-morning pickup available at the back of the park. Parking is spread across several lots near the sports fields and courts at the front of the park. If you park toward the back near the soccer fields, plan to stay until the bulk of runners have crossed the bridge.

Common Questions About the Seneca Valley Cross Country Turkey Chase 5K

Will I finish last at the Seneca Valley Cross Country Turkey Chase 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 31:56, and the last recorded finisher came in around 58:57, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Seneca Valley Cross Country Turkey Chase 5K a good first 5K?

With 763 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.
