About the 18th Annual Scare Brain Cancer Away 5K Run/Walk
The race runs through the streets of East Rochester, starting and finishing at the high school. The course is a road race through a small village, with a separate shorter walk option that sets off just after the runners. It is organized around a specific honoree each year, someone connected to the community, and the proceeds go toward that person and a cancer research fund.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store, with race-morning pickup at the school as well. Race-day registration is available. Post-race awards go to the top finishers overall and to age group winners, and there is a post-race party at the finish.
