About the Save Your Breath 5K
The course runs out and back along a rail trail, starting near a YMCA and ending at a turnaround marked by Adirondack chairs in Hallowell. The pavement is smooth and the route is mostly flat, so it moves quickly. Music plays at the start and finish line, and the silent auction inside the gym gives people a reason to linger after they cross.
The award ceremony and silent auction happen back at the YMCA once everyone is in. The race benefits lung cancer research and support programs, and the organizing group covers processing fees so donations go further.
