About the Santa's Toy Trot
The course runs a loop around the Sweetsir School that repeats depending on which distance you choose. Because every loop starts and finishes at the school, you can decide mid-race whether to keep going or call it done. The streets are paved and flat throughout. Ugly Christmas sweaters are strongly encouraged, and there is a prize for the most outrageous one.
Children ten and under can do a fun run around the school before the main race kicks off, led by a club member. The race benefits a local holiday assistance program for Merrimac families. The event goes ahead in most weather, road closures being the only exception.
