About the San Diego 50 & Trail Runs
The trails here climb up to Raptor Ridge, which is the high point for several of the longer distances and the specific destination for a shorter out-and-back course where the fastest time to the summit claims a prize. The terrain is real trail running, not groomed path, and the course maps are worth studying before you show up. This is a cupless event, so bring your own hydration vessel.
Packet pickup runs earlier in the week at a local running store in San Diego, with race-morning pickup also available at the start. Parking is limited, and the organizers push carpooling hard. There are marked parking zones and areas to avoid, so reading the runner's guide before you drive in saves headaches.
