About the Runway 5K & 10K
The course runs directly on an active airport runway, which is about as unusual as a road race gets. The surface is smooth pavement with wide open sky in every direction, no shade, no turns through neighborhoods, just a long straight strip of tarmac with planes and hangars as the backdrop. Dogs and strollers are not permitted, per airport authority rules.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local running store in Naples, with race-morning pickup opening early at the airport. The field is capped, so registration closes once spots are gone. The finish area is at the airport, where the setting alone makes for a memorable post-race moment.
