About the 5K for The Cure Starts Now
This is a charity run organized by RunStrong alongside the Gabby Strong Foundation, which was started by a local family in memory of their daughter, who fought a pediatric brain cancer called DIPG. All entry fees go directly toward cancer research. The course is open-ended, so runners and walkers can go as far as they like and turn back whenever.
Packet pickup and registration happen right at the start, so there is no need to plan around a separate pickup window. Gold is the color of the morning, matching pediatric cancer awareness. The post-race gathering is as much about the cause as the running itself.
